it’s that time of year again. NaNoWriMo-time. National Novel Writing Month. and this year, i think i’ve overcome my success anxieties and feel okay with being excited. i am EXCITED. i’m gonna win and not only that, it’s gonna be an awesome novel. i’m leaning towards LitFic which is, well, a lofty aspiration. but who cares. maybe i just always aim too low, expect too little. i think that’s the key to winning this thing this time around. aim high, shoot big, all of that.
this year’s novel is called Fact Girl. still working on a plot synopsis, but the general idea…it’s about a twenty-something girl who has suffered from depression most of her life finally accepting happiness and joy as part of herself. not complex at all. there may be some outward manifestation of her inner conflict; there may not. we’ll see.
so that’s that.
